Sunderland Samba FC Celebrates 25 Years with Community Event

Sunderland Samba FC will mark its 25th anniversary with a special community celebration on Saturday 28 February 2026, welcoming people from across the city for an afternoon and evening of reflection, music and togetherness.

The event will take place at Roker Methodist Church from 4pm to 7pm, featuring family-friendly activities, exhibitions celebrating the club’s journey, live music, scheduled talks, and shared food and refreshments. Founded on values of inclusion and opportunity, Sunderland Samba FC has become a much-loved part of the city’s sporting and community life.

Special guests include Sunderland Mayor Ethesham Haque and Rev’d Dr Inderjit Bhogal OBE, who will join players, supporters and local residents in celebrating the club’s lasting impact. Organisers say the event reflects Samba’s founding message — all are welcome — and invite everyone to come along and be part of the celebration.
