The Circuit Leadership Team (CLT) consists of:
I have been a minister since 2010 and a minister in the Sunderland Circuit since September 2018. I lead and care for the Methodist people in East Boldon, Cleadon and Whitburn. I am passionate about seeing people grow in faith and discipleship; helping churches develop inspiring worship; and encouraging the whole church family to recognise and use their gifts, so we are all involved in God's mission in our communities and in his world. When not "ministering" I enjoy walking, cycling, a little bit of canoeing, live music, good food and living where I do because it is wonderful to live so close to the sea!
With my wife, Vanessa, after working in churches in the west of Ireland for many years, I then spent 8 years ministering in Bishop Auckland Co. Durham before moving into the City of Sunderland in 2023 to look after the Methodist Churches of Fulwell, Roker and Castletown. I champion issues of justice and the environment. Being a friendly chap, I'm always happy to chat over a mug of coffee.
I'm the Minister with responsibility to lead and care for the churches of High Southwick, New Silksworth and St John's. I bring the experience I've gained from serving very different churches in various parts of the country – and from being involved in the work of charities and organisations in the local communities, too. The foundation of my faith is God's loving acceptance of every person, and Christ's promise to bring us into life that is full and fulfilling.
