Castletown

Castletown Methodist Church is a modern multi- purpose building, celebrating its Silver Jubilee in 2024. It has a small but dedicated, multi-cultural congregation, who aim to make the Church a welcoming place dedicated to meeting the needs of the community, showing God's love for all.

A service takes place most Sundays followed by fellowship and special services take place throughout the year, attracting many more of the local community.

Activities for the community take place most months and include concerts, coffee mornings and

a Xmas craft fayre. Messy Church for families takes place quarterly and at the moment there is a monthly evening Citizens Advice Bureau Session which is hoped to continue over 2024/25.

The Church is also available for hire, and currently is hired weekly by a craft club and monthly by the NE Christian Bikers association.

The Church can be opened on request outside of the usual times for anyone wanting some quiet time
and/or prayer.

We also work as part of the Sunderland Methodist Circuit of 9 Churches and have a closer relationship with Fulwell and Roker churches, holding quarterly joint services, with all three churches ministered by the Rev John Purdy.
