Christmas Angels

Many people waking this morning, traveling to or from work will notice visitors to Sunderland and the surrounding villages

A host of knitted Angels – around 8000 have decended into parks, schools, hospitals and shops.

Building on the success of the Tynemouth Christmas Angels in 2014 the message has now grown across many other churches of all denominations.  To date over eighteen thousand angels have been knitted from across the North East of England, London, East Midlands and Edinburgh!  Some angels have even been parcelled up and sent to South Africa.

Sunderland Samba Kenya Party

On Saturday 12th December 2015 Sunderland Samba will be hosting a Kenya Party at St Johns Methodist Church to raise financial support for the Sunderland Samba Girls Football team in Kenya.  Further details are on the poster attached.

Sticky Faith

A few years ago Scripture Union and Urban Saints together ran a very popular training course called ‘Sticky Faith’ in a number of locations throughout the Northeast and Yorkshire. Indeed this training has been so popular that it has since gone national – and even international! Sadly, however, a few locations missed out on this including Sunderland, but this is about to change…

Pray for a Change - Friday 20th November 2015

The Methodist Church is praying; and here in the Sunderland Circuit in the Newcastle District it is our turn to pray!  May sound strange for of course we pray on a regular basis - but this is slightly different - we are praying for a change, whether that be in our local churches, circuit, district, nationally or globally. Each of the 15 churches in the Sunderland area are praying for 30minutes each on a rota basis, and they are praying for what they feel is important to them.
